Mother’s Day All Year Long!

On March 21, mothers all over Egypt will get a little extra attention and care. It’s wonderful to receive cards and flowers from our children on Mother’s Day, but more than anything, we enjoy the appreciation they express. This is our day to shine – to feel proud of being moms and to enjoy the love directed our way. On March 22, moms will return to their usual routine of caring for kids and husbands.

But wouldn’t it be great if we could maintain the happiness and enjoyment we feel on Mother’s Day all year long?

It may not be possible to receive flowers on a daily basis or for our families to shower us with attention. However, it is possible for us to care for ourselves, because just as we have a responsibility to others, we also have a responsibility to look after ourselves.

We can do this by actively seeking inspiration, happiness and fulfillment, instead of assuming we don’t have the time, the ability or the right. It’s easy to get caught up in obligations until today feels no different from tomorrow, but life doesn’t have to be that way and the first step is taking the time to focus on you. This is vitally important not just for you, but for the family that depends on you. A happy mother is better mother, because she has the inner strength to give others her best.
