How Can You Improve Your Health Today?

Most of us already know what we need to be doing to improve our health.

I’ll let you sit with that a moment.

Sure, there’s a lot of information (and MIS-information) when it comes to which foods we should be eating — you only need to look at the variety of books in the ‘diet’ or ‘health’ section of your local bookstore. But when it comes down to it, we usually know the basic things we need to be doing to improve our health.

In fact, when I ask my clients “What are three things you think you could be doing today to improve your health tomorrow?” I get the same answers every time:

  • Be more active
  • Stop eating [x] or stop drinking [x] or stop smoking
  • Eat more vegetables

We intuitively know how to make ourselves well.

But when it comes to following through? That’s where we fall apart.

I’ve done it too. I still do! I might be a health coach, but I’m still human. I eat cake, drink coffee and sometimes don’t eat as well as I know I can.

So how about this . . .

What if, for the next week, you spent time thinking about the obstacles that are preventing you from living your healthiest life. Think about them, journal about them, reflect on them.

What’s standing in your way?
What’s stopping you?

Maybe you’re confused about what healthy eating really is.

Maybe you work long hours and cooking a healthy meal seems too time-consuming.

Maybe you feel that the price of healthy food is too high.

Maybe, deep down, you’re not convinced you deserve to feel amazing.

Your task for the next week is to simply think, reflect, and journal.

Knowing your obstacles, habits, and patterns will help you figure out how to work around them.

By applying small steps over time in a way that’s realistic for you, you WILL feel the benefits and see the changes you want.

When you’ve figured out what’s standing in your way, share in the comments. I’d love to share my “Reboot Your Mind And Body In Just 24 hours” guide with you and help you figure out a plan that’ll work for you.
