Cinnamon Granola



Cinnamon Granola

Most people think that granola is healthy, but most store-bought varieties contain gluten and sugar – 2 ingredients that simply don’t digest well in your system and which can lead to a host of symptoms and issues. Try this gluten-free and sugar free natural recipe that you make at home. Added benefit: no preservatives or funny chemicals either! 🙂

  • 1 1/2 cup mixed, raw nuts (or one kind)
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 – 1/2 cup raw honey
  • 1/8 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup shredded, unsweetened coconut
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup cacao nibs (optional)
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla
  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cup coconut flour *
  • A pinch of sea salt

Preheat the oven to 350F/180C degrees.

In a food processor, pulse the nuts until they’re finely chopped, and some of them are a powder. Melt the coconut oil, vanilla and honey together. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, and stir until combined.

Press the mixture onto a greased or lined baking sheet, and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the top is brown. Allow it to cool completely before crumbling. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Crunch on it all day long.
